Funkenstein

I’m Funkenstein, a music producer and DJ born and raised in the vibrant coastal town of Biarritz, France. Surrounded by the rhythm of crashing waves, sunlit beaches, and the energy of dance, I grew up with music as my compass.

I thrive in the emerging Tech-Funk and Indie Dance scenes, but I’m not one to stick to just one style. I dive headfirst into genres like slow acid techno, electro swing, and tech house, blending them into sets that tell a story and take listeners on a journey.

From 2009–2010, I held residencies in two clubs in Oxford, England. Since then, I’ve performed at private events in and around Paris, including the annual Burning Night at the Moulin Rouge in 2013. Later, I brought my mixes to San Francisco, where the vibrant electronic music scene was thriving in clubs such as F8 or Public Works. There, I curated the lively "Beat Brunch" day parties, turning sunny afternoons into unforgettable musical experiences.

In 2018, I sold my two Technics Mk2 turntables and went fully digital. During the COVID lockdowns, we hosted super fun online parties with Kwarantine FM, connecting with music lovers worldwide. Now based in Maui, I draw endless inspiration from the island's breathtaking landscapes. Recent highlights include headlining a massive New Year’s Eve party in La Ventana’s Arroyo, playing back-to-back with my friend Martin, and DJ'ing countless beachside events, always with my feet in the sand.
